MUSEUM OF SACRED ART
The Museum of Sacred Art is located in the rooms of the old 15thC Augustinian convent near the Church of SS. Giacomo and Filippo.
The museum displays masterpieces that derive from the countryside churches which once belonged to the Certaldo Vicariate. In the old convent refectory, there are paintings by Cenni di Francesco di Ser Cenni and Ugolino di Berio or Meliore dating from the 12th to 16thC. Part of the exhibition includes precious jewels, holy vestments and the Blessed Giulia della Rena reliquary bust created by the 17thC artist Paolo Laurentini.
